If you want to explore the most beautful landscapes of Mongolia and experience its unique history at the same time – the LAND OF CHINGGIS tour has it all! You will ride through endless steppes, mountains,sand dunes, rivers, nomadic families and the breathtaking Erdenee Zuu monastery, the earliest Buddhist monastery in Mongolia, next to Khar-khorin, the ancient Mongolian capital. Last but not least this tour also includes one day of pure sand dune riding in Elsen Tasarkhai. With 1,270km, the Orkhon is the longest river in Mongolia and is home to many species of fish. There are many rocks and boulders around the river as well as smaller waterfalls with 4-5 m height as well as the famous Ulaan-tsutgalan waterfall, the biggest in Mongolia with a height of 26m. The Orkhon river Valley has been protected since 2006 as a National Park. This tour is 90% off-road.

Day 1 – Welcome

You will be picked up from the airport and checked-in to UB Grand hotel right in the city center next to Chinggis Khaan Square (unless you have selected a different hotel during the booking). During the afternoon all riders will meet our team, receive a safety briefing and gear fittng for the tour. Big welcome dinner that evening.

Day 2 – Riding Day - 350km

Breakfast at your hotel with an early pick-up at around 7.30, taking you to our hangar from where we will start riding right away. We will ride to the Elsen Tasarkhai sand dunes.

Day 3 –  UURTIIN TOKHOI -160km

During the morning we will enjoy riding in the sand dunes. We will continue our tour to the next destination, the Orkhon River Valley via Kharkhorin, the ancient capital of the Mongol empire. The Orkhon valley landscape will blow your mind. We will continue to the ger camp (Talibun), located next to a scenic canyon of Orkhon river. 

Day 4 – TSENKHER HOT SPRING - 240km

We start heading towards the Orkhon Waterfall, one of the most beautiful places in Mongolia. Lunch is planned right next to the waterfall. In the afternoon we will continue our trip to Tsenkher hot spring, where you can relax your muscles in a hot spa and open air hot ‘swimming pool’ at Khangai resort camp. 

Day 5 – UGII LAKE - 160km

We will start heading Ugii lake by crossing the endless seeming steppe. Ugii lake is a freshwater lake famous for fishing and birdlife. Enjoy the rest of the day swimming, relaxing by the lake and a nice BBQ dinner under a carpet of stars. We will sleep in our tents.

Day 6 – KHUSTAI NATIONAL PARK -280km

The tour will continue heading to the Khustai National Park, the place where the successful reintroduction Przewalski's horse happened. 

Day 7 – Riding back to Ulaanbaatar - 90km

Time to get back to Ulaanbaatar. When we return to the city, we will have a short break and shower time, then meet at Ulaanbaatar’s best hot pot the restaurant for a farewell dinner. Whoever has the energy to continue is welcome to enjoy the city’s nightlife, we will show you the best places to go to.

Day 8 – departure Day

We will take you to the airport for your flight home and hope to have you with us again for another tour one day.
